Knight Rider 2008!

I just finished watching the new pilot episode for “Knight Rider 2008″ that will (hopefully) be turned into a series, and I have to say I was impressed.

Set 20(ish) years after the original hit series the Original Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT) has been re-built/upgraded as the Knight Industries Three Thousand (we know this cos of the Trans-am bits lying around - it’s still a new KITT tho ). KITT is now portrayed as a black 550-horsepower Ford Shelby GT500KR Mustang which is ridiculously fast and has the ability to regenerate it’s chassis - good old nanobots!!!!!

Anyway the new Mike is the son of the mechanic from the original and guess who…. yes Michael Knight….. although he doesn’t know this.

Anyway…. long story short… Cool car….good acting…..etc…etc….. good pilot and good start of what should be a series…. Just because Knight Rider failed as a remake previously does not mean it won’t work with the right person at the helm.. and this works…..Plus Val Kilmer as KITT is pretty cool too!!!!

Oh and the whole thing is a bit of a Ford commercial…. just ignore that and you’ll enjoy it more….

And also a quick note to any Knight RIder purists out there… GET OVER IT!!!

INDY 4 WILL OWN ALL!!!

So the trailer for Indy 4 has been leaked on the net and to be honest it looks impressive. Stephen Spielberg said he was making this one for the fans and it looks like he will have delivered on that promise. They are using old school filming techniques with less effects (although I’m sure there will be a couple well placed gems).

Just remember peep…. Indy is timeless… i can’t wait!!!!

Jericho Rocks!!!

So I’ve been a fan of Jericho from the moment it came out. When i found out it had been cancelled I was gutted cos I don’t watch that much TV but found it was something that had a unique feel to it. It’s one of the only shows I ever felt compelled to try and save and so I joined in donating cash to buy nuts which the on-line fan-base shipped in their tons to CBS headquarters in protest.

CBS caved and commissioned a miniseries of 7 episodes to provide closure to the story. But as all good Jericho fans know that’s just not good enough as we’ll always want another season

The main problem is today’s methods of measuring buzz surrounding TV shows is antiquated by modern standards….. word of mouth audits regarding prime-time TV shows would be much more effective as they would really show the scope of interest across the web GLOBALLY!!!

Check out season two’s trailer. I watched ep. 1 through my friend’s proxy server in the USA (I’m in the UK) and It totally owns!!

Remember peeps keep on watching as we’re the peeps who can keep good shows like this on the air!!!

BAFTA Shoots Themself in the Foot?

So I been on the bandwagon regarding this one for some time… BAFTA have chosen not to show the London Disability Arts Forum’s (LDAF) choice of film at their screenings this coming week.

They think the LDFAs choice: “Last American Freak Show” documentary sends the wrong message so they have opted to show a hollywood film about a “mentally retarded” kid who keeps and inflatable doll as his girlfriend…. hmmmmmm…..

Anyway now the Times, Independant and Guardian newspapers are joining ithe bandwagon in disgust at BAFTA’s decision.
The film does raise a few moral and ethical questions….. but shouldn’t any good documentary question past and current boundries within society????

Does anyone else think that rejecting a film about disabled people…made by a disabled person seems a little bit daft…. especially when it’s a documentary.????

I find it laughable that they replaced it with a film that makes fun of disabilities!!!

Off on Another Holiday!!

I won’t be blogging for about a week now… cos I’m off on holiday to Portugal to get my fix of nicer weather and Golf!!!

I’ll be playing both the resorts at Pestana and FourSeasons Fairways at Quinta Do Lago!

I’m looking forward to kicking back and forgetting all of my daily crap for a week!! I’m also looking forward to the Superbowl on Sunday… i’ll be wearing my Patriots shirt!!!
