Part of me always knew that eventually someone would create a World of Warcraft add-on that allowed people to use Twitter in game. With over 9 million players world-wide it was a matter of when, and not if it happened.

This was a few days old when I picked up on it but I have to admit it looks great for players who use Twitter!

I’d like to introduce “Tweetcraft”!

TweetCraft can:

• Send/receive Tweets in-game (Immediate sending reloads your UI)
• Queue Tweets to send when it’s more convenient for you
• Upload in-game screenshots using TwitPic
• AutoTweet when you log in, enter an instance or get an achievement
• Extensible so that AddOn authors can register messages or events to AutoTweet

TweetCraft is an open source application built for Microsoft’s Coding4Fun, in association with Channel 9.

This morning the news hit the UK that “The King of Pop” Michael Jackson died aged 50. This sparked the usual chatter online, and even Google seemed to be struggling.

Then tech writer Milo Yiannopoulos tweeted this:

This quickly snowballed and within hours a Facebook page was up and the “Moonwalk” flashmob was being reported across the globe. Even the local police were helping with the organization.

I love when stuff like this happens, even more when it’s not done in the name of brand marketing!

Man this has to be the untimate “indulgance Burger” joint on the planet!

I’m actually considering finding out where it is and flying out. It’s on my list of things to do before I die!

The place is called the Heart Attack Grill, and if the food doesn’t kill you, the palpatations from the hot waiting girls might!

Last week Beefeater sent me over a bottle of their Gin to check out.

Now I’m known to be a bit of a gin connoisseur among my peers so I obviously jumped at the chance.

1.) The Bottle

The bottle is a nice rectangular shaped design. Great for stacking and not rolling off the table and smashing when knocked over (a common problem among drinkers I’m told!). They have a picture of a Beefeater on the bottle which is a good start…. I’m kind of hoping for a new “special edition” bottle to come out that actually looks like a Beefeater!

I must admit that the bottle does feel a bit light and ‘plasticy’ though!

Marks for the bottle (design, and drunken handling ability) – 7/10

2.) Taste

I’ve tasted a lot of gin in my time and my top gins weigh up as “Hendrik’s”, “Martin Millar’s”, and “Bols Jonge Dutch Gin”.

The Beefeater Gin definitely ranks up above Gordons, and Plymouth Gin as it is very smooth and has little bitterness. I’d say it’s up with Martin Millar’s in levels of quality and taste.

The only downside I can see is that it is very smooth, and I did find it hard to gauge how strong a drink I’d free-poured (this would not me a problem in a bar though)

Marks for taste (smoothness, drinking ability) – 8/10

3.) Price

As this bottle was sent to me for review by Beefeater I didn’t have to pay for it which is always a bonus in my book! I did a little research online and found that of my top gins these are the average prices online per 70cl bottle:

Hendrik’s: £21.00-£25.00

Bols: £23.15-£29.99

Martin Millar’s: £23.00-£26.00

Beefeater: £11.99-£13.99

Plymouth: £14.99-£15.99

Gordon’s: £9.99-£12.00

This puts Beefeater way ahead in the price VS taste war!

Marks for price (price vs taste vs other gins) – 9.5/10

Well that’s it!

I’d definitely consider Beefeater again if I was looking to buy a Gin and saw it on the shelf….. oh and if Beefeater want to send me another bottle I may even stream a Gin-Party online for you

Well it’s been a fair while since I last blogged on here, and that’s down to the fact I’ve been working so much!

I’ve taken a bit of time out to do a blog post and I have sooooo much new stuff to blog about it’s hard to know what to start with!

I’m gonna go with a great advert my pal Ade sent me for a new Womens version of the Nintendo Wii!

This week my point I’ve been making since the cash-clown that is Britain’s Got Talent was first concieved by the Anti-Christ Simon Cowell and Co was hammered home….. IT SUCKS!

Fourty Seven year old Susan Boyle walked on stage and the whole audience instantly began laughing at her…. I mean WTF!… Yep she’s no oil painting but you’d think people would have given her a chance.

People are saying things like “She wow’d the judges with her performance”… in all fairness her performance of “I dreamed a dream” from Les Miserable was awesome. But more than that…. it said F**K YOU! to all the people in the audience and especially the judges who were not wow’d….. they were ashamed that they didn’t give her a chance.

Watching that video made me want to pluck Susan Boyle to safety and drop an A-Bomb on the audience/judges!

I’ve been dreaming about two things over the last 10 years. The first dream is obviously getting that small beach house in Caribbean with Kate Beckinsale… the second dream is Grim Fandango getting action figures!

ooh yes! These awesome Grim Fandango figures of our heroes Glottis and Manny; custom-made by Iain Reekie, are indeed awesome and deserve to be produced in their thousands!

If anyone feels like sending me one they will earn a place on my Xmas card list!

Just posted on the BBC website it turns out that Spock actor Leonard Nimoy gave fans a special treat!

Sci-fi enthusiasts in Austin, Texas turned up for the classic film only to find Nimoy introducing the first public showing of director JJ Abrams’ prequel.

The film was given a six minute standing ovation and one filmgoer said fans were “crying they were so happy.”

Star Trek, the 11th film in the franchise, is due for release on 8 May.

It follows James T Kirk as he graduates from Star Fleet Academy and becomes captain of the starship Enterprise.

Chris Pine takes over the role of Kirk which was played by William Shatner in the 1960s television series and seven of the films.

The prequel had its official world premiere in Sydney, Australia on Tuesday night.

Film company Paramount arranged for Nimoy, along with the film’s writers and its producers to unveil the film to hardcore fans first and the audience from Monday’s unexpected showing immediately started posting reviews on Twitter.

One fan called it “the best Star Trek movie ever” adding, “yes, it even beat Wrath of Khan”.

Another said, “the cast is superb, the story is compelling, the action is exciting”. Another simply added: “Just saw the new Star Trek movie and it MELTED MY PANTS!!!!!”

The enthusiasm carried over to the Sydney Opera House premiere, where one viewer reported “there were a lot of moments where the audience spontaneously burst into applause”.

I’ve been meaning to write about this for the past week, but have only just got round to doing it.

On Tuesday news hit the web that Electronic Arts had shipped knuckledusters (brass knuckles) to some online game reviewers within the Godfather II press pack.

This obviously seemed like a great promo and is quite a clever novelty, however EA overlooked the small issue that knuckledusters are ILLEGAL in some states.
Possessing them is apparently a first-degree misdemeanor is most states.

Just another example of online engagement gone wrong!
